Introduction to the determination of coordinate axis direction

1 Z coordinate

the moving direction of Z coordinate is determined by the spindle that transmits cutting power, that is, the coordinate axis parallel to the spindle axis is the Z coordinate, and the positive direction of Z coordinate pressing the power button is the direction of the tool leaving the workpiece

if there are several spindles on the machine tool, choose a spindle direction perpendicular to the workpiece clamping plane as the Z coordinate direction; If the spindle can swing, select the direction perpendicular to the workpiece clamping plane as the Z coordinate direction; If the machine tool has no spindle, the direction perpendicular to the workpiece clamping plane is the Z coordinate direction. Figure 1 shows the Z coordinate of the CNC lathe

2 X coordinate

x coordinate is parallel to the clamping plane of the workpiece and is generally in the horizontal plane

if the workpiece rotates, the direction of the tool leaving the workpiece is the positive direction of the X coordinate

if a scale: it is used to measure metals with hardness over 70hrc (such as tungsten carbide, cemented carbide, etc.), it can also measure hard sheet materials and surface hardened materials When the tool rotates, it can be divided into two cases:

1) when the Z coordinate is horizontal, when the observer looks at the workpiece along the tool spindle, +x movement direction points to the right

3 Y coordinate

after determining the positive direction of X and Z coordinates, the direction of Y coordinate can be determined according to the direction of X and Z coordinates and the right-hand rectangular coordinate system

Tangshan area increased by 20 yuan/ton. Figure 3 shows the Y coordinate of CNC lathe

Figure 4 CNC vertical milling machine

try to determine the X, y, Z linear coordinates according to the structure diagram of CNC vertical milling machine shown in Figure 4

(1) Z coordinate: parallel to the spindle, the direction of the tool leaving the workpiece is positive

(2) x coordinate: Z coordinate is vertical, and the tool rotates, so it is positive to the right when looking at the column direction facing the tool spindle

(3) y coordinate: after the Z and X coordinates are determined, use the right-hand rectangular coordinate system to determine

2) when the Z coordinate is vertical, when the observer looks at the column facing the tool spindle, +x movement direction points to the right
